*Currently, we're not able to implement most of these programs due to a lack of funding and donations.  We're continuing to seek out companies and public donations to help us move forward and reach our set goals for this program.

  Transitional Services

  • Intake Assessment — assessing inmate’s job skills, education, level of interest, social skills, child support issues, communication with parole officer,  transportation, addressing basic needs immediately,  alcohol & substance abuse problems
  • Mentoring — providing guidance on employment opportunities, job skills, community resources, and spiritual guidance.  Working with inmates prior to and immediately following their release.
  • Service providers —  contact person or a referral list to agencies
  • Vouchers — temporary transportation and food assistance
  • Job readiness — preparing them to re-enter the job market, providing employment resources
  • Employment — provide or link clients with potential employers or service providers to help clients find jobs, mock interviews, resume writing
  • Shelter & social services — contact social services to help provide housing & food
  • Job skills training — punctuality, attendance, appropriate attire, work ethics, ability to accept criticisms

  Counseling & Support Services

  • Peer focus group — discuss challenges & successes
  • Fatherhood program — reconnecting  ex-offenders with their kids and assisting with child support issues
  • Assign case manager to ex-offender to work closely with parole officer and assist with many other issues
  • Help them to develop short & long-term goals
  • Health education — discuss AIDS, STDs, safe sex, provide information on various health topics
  • Referrals for substance & drug treatment programs
  • Providing breakfast and lunch
  • Clothing closet
  • Help ex-offenders get necessary documents (forms of identification, driver’s license, social security cards, birth certificate, etc.)
  • Help ex-offenders review and clean up their rap sheets and credit reports

  Transport Services

  • Job interviews
  • Transport to doctor appointments
  • Grocery & basic necessity shopping
  • Workshops & job skills training
  • Metro bus passes

  Computer Training & Educational Information

  • Basic computer skills
  • Learning how to use the Internet
  • Basic Adult Education information
  • GED preparation
  • Provide information about local trade schools & community colleges
  • Provide information on programs & vocational training available: moving & trucking school, restaurant & catering services, copy centers, retail, transit services, sales, automotive

  Art work Creations

  • Prison artists in several work camps around the State of Florida have reproduced paintings and drawings from photos, and have created their own pen and ink drawings, landscapes, waterscapes, wood carvings, picture frames, and other works of art. (Please see art gallery.)
